Details

User research revealed key shopping pain points, including navigation challenges, missed deals, and inefficiencies in ordering and pickup. To address this, NAVSCAPE AR-based shopping complex navigation PWA was designed, offering real-time navigation, on-the-go coupon collection, and remote ordering from anywhere in the mall.

Shoppers can pick up in-store or have items delivered to their location, creating a seamless and efficient shopping experience.

Challenges

For the Navscape project, the primary goal was to research the current ideal shopping experience and identify gaps that impact user satisfaction. Through in-depth user research, surveys, and observational studies, insights were gathered on how shoppers navigate malls, engage with promotions, and handle purchasing and order fulfillment.

Pain Point

Shoppers often struggle with navigating large malls, missing out on deals, and inefficient purchasing processes. The lack of a seamless way to locate stores, collect promotions, and shop conveniently from anywhere within the mall leads to frustration and a disconnected shopping experience.

Solution

Based on this research, a design framework was developed to enhance the shopping experience by integrating AR-based navigation, real-time coupon collection, and seamless remote ordering. This solution ensures that users can shop effortlessly, whether by navigating the mall efficiently, ordering from any location (like a food court), or choosing between in-store pickup and direct delivery. Navscape bridges the gap between physical and digital shopping, offering a more connected, frictionless retail experience.

User Research

Using the Lextant research method, user research for Navscape focused on understanding the ideal shopping experience through in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis. Affinitization was conducted to categorize insights from surveys, interviews, and observational studies, revealing key pain points such as navigation difficulties, missed promotions, and inefficient order fulfillment.

By synthesizing these findings, a design solution framework was developed to enhance shopping convenience through AR-based navigation, real-time coupon collection, and remote ordering with flexible pickup and delivery options. This research-driven approach ensures a frictionless, engaging, and efficient retail experience tailored to modern shopper needs.

Conclusion

Navscape redefines the shopping experience by addressing key user pain points through intuitive design and technology. By integrating AR navigation, real-time coupon collection, and seamless remote ordering, it enhances convenience and engagement within shopping complexes.

Grounded in extensive user research, Navscape creates a frictionless, efficient, and enjoyable retail journey, bridging the gap between physical and digital shopping.
